Power 20 sends content to mobile devices over wifi or mobile networks each time the app is launched. We currently use Amazon Web Hosting Services (AWS). We fetch content at these times:
When the application is launched for the first time. All the artwork for the application is fetched from the AWS. The app does not work unless this is done successfully.
Each time the user clicks the “shopping cart” icon to see other applications by Power 20. If the user does not have Internet access over wifi or mobile network, the app stops searching for content and displays existing content.
Each time the app is launched thereafter.
In subsequent launches, the application quickly checks the AWS to see if any new content has been added. If yes, then those assets are downloaded. If no, then the download stops, allowing the user to start their workout. If the user does not have Internet access over wifi or mobile network, the app stops searching for content and displays existing workouts and artwork.
